Meet Yoga Bob

Yoga at Home

Bio

Yoga Bob started his fitness career in 1983 training his fellow football players at St. Joseph's High School. His love for fitness led him to receive certifications in Personal training, Reebok power walk instruction, and Street rollerblade instruction.  In 1999 he finished third for Vert ramp in the first extreme game qualifiers in Boston. With the birth of his daughter, Yoga Bob began focusing on the safer side of fitness teaching martial arts, Qigong and stretching.  Still hungry for more training Bob went on to get his powerhouse Pilates and RTS strength training certifications.  While living on St. John, in the Caribbean, Bob has taught over 1000 yoga/Pilates based classes at resorts and on the beach. In 2009, he returned home to Connecticut where he received his 200-hour yoga certification at Kripalu.  Then, after four years as a Master Trainer on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, he relocated back to CT and began specializing in proper posture and flexibility training.

YIN STRETCH

YIN STRETCH CLASS has the same goals and objectives as any other school of yoga. Yin yoga concentrates on the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even joints of the body that normally are not emphasized very much in a more active style asana’s

YOGA 4 POSTURE

9:30am

YOGA 4 POSTURE CLASS promotes both immediate and long-term postural and flexibility benefits. Students will notice instant increases in flexibility, better posture and may help reduce aches and pains associated with a stiff body.

PILATES FLEX 

10:30am

PILATES FLEX CLASS gives your body the opportunity to both lengthen and strengthen your muscles while working your core, and may reduce many aches and pains. This unique regime combines active and passive stretching with Pilates mat exercises.

Sterile CHAIR YOGA

11:30am

Occurs in the all woman's gym and limited to five and closed to the public during this time.


Is a gentle form of yoga that can be done while sitting. Some poses can also be done standing using a chair for support. Chair yoga can improve your flexibility, concentration and strength, as well as boosting your mood and reducing stress and joint strain.

FLEX DETOX

6:30pm

The proper flexibility routine can help you to detox your body. Yoga Bob has customized a sequence of restorative twisting stretches and yoga asanas that are specifically designed to help your body naturally detoxify. In this PM

class, relax to some comfortable stretches, good music, a few smiles and float yourself to sleep
*Students are welcomed to include their own essential oils and relaxing teas in this practice.
